DUI Checkpoints Continue to Waste Tax Payer Moneys (Revised)
Revised: This past weekend in Riverside, California, the Riverside Police Department conducted a DUI/Driver's License Checkpoint on Van Buren Boulevard just south of Garfield Street between the hours of 8 p.m. on Friday, December 13, and 2 a.m. December 14. The Press Enterprise Newspaper reported that of the 1,423 vehicles that went through the Riverside checkpoint, only 5 drivers were arrested for suspicion of DUI. That's about 3/10 of a percent of the total vehicles that were detained and questioned.
